We have a finish that generates a non reflective and muted appearance, which is called a matte finish. There’s also paint that  generates a faint shine and sleek eggshell-like feel on it which is why it’s called the  eggshell finish or also known as a satin finish. The semi-gloss finish reflects artificial and  natural lighting better than the eggshell or satin finish but not as shiny as the gloss finish. The gloss finish generates the most reflective appearance of all paints. It is the shiniest  and is the opposite of the matte finish. A small tip from professionals, if you want your  interior paint to be stain resistant, request for a gloss finish because it withstands  scrubbing much better than the matte finish.
